Bilingual Newsletter Coordinator (Part-Time Contract)
Term: Contract (Part-Time)
Start Date: At the earliest availability
Location: Remote role (based in Manitoba)
Compensation: This is a paid contract position. The hourly rate will be based on the candidate’s experience and skill level. Each issue is estimated to require 10 hours of work.

Overview
On Screen Manitoba is seeking a Part-Time Contract Bilingual Newsletter Coordinator to manage the production of In Focus, our bi-weekly newsletter.
The ideal candidate is a Francophone or bilingual communicator with strong writing skills in both French and English and a clear understanding of Manitoba’s media production industry. (Note: English-only candidates may be considered if they demonstrate exceptional writing ability and local industry knowledge.)
This contract role involves writing short bilingual news snippets, selecting photos, formatting layout and publishing in Mailchimp, in collaboration with On Screen Manitoba’s Membership and Communications Specialist.
Responsibilities
Manage the production process for In Focus newsletter, released every two weeks
Research and gather timely news from Manitoba and the national media production industry
Write concise newsletter blurbs in French and English
Work closely with OSM’s Membership and Communications Specialist to align content and tone
Select and format visuals (cropping, resizing, basic editing in Canva)
Format content in MailChimp
Upload and schedule publication in MailChimp
Qualifications
Strong writing and editing skills in French and English. Francophone or fully bilingual candidates preferred; strong English-only candidates may be considered.
Knowledge of Manitoba’s media production industry
Awareness of national industry developments (e.g., CRTC, CMF, Telefilm, festivals)
Experience using MailChimp and Canva
Consistent, deadline-driven workflow across multi-step process
Organized, detail-oriented and self-directed
Previous experience in newsletter production or industry communications is an asset
